|The Aldrich Vapor-Phase Library
consists of 6,611 FT-IR spectra of compounds measured in gas phase. Most of the spectra
(6,543) were acquired by Aldrich Chemical Company. The remaining spectra (68) were run at
Thermo Fisher's, Madison, WI.
The Aldrich spectra were measured
in a heated cell or light-pipe connected to the outlet of a gas chromatograph. The Thermo
Scientific spectra were measured in gas cells at room temperature. For the Thermo
spectra, the gases were diluted to near atmospheric pressure with nonabsorbing gases.
All of the spectra in this library are available in
printed form in the Aldrich Library of FT-IR Spectra, Edition 1, Volume 3 Vapor-Phase. The
Aldrich location number uses the following convention.
<page number> <spectrum letter>
For example, the spectrum with the location number 234B
would be the second (or B spectrum) on page 234 of Aldrich Library of FT-IR Spectra,
Edition 1, Volume 3.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Charles Pouchert of
Aldrich Chemical Company for his cooperation in preparing this library.
