The Polymers, Polymer Additives
and Plasticizers Library contains 1,799 spectra of commercially available materials of
interest to those in the polymer industry. The spectra were originally acquired at 2 cm-1
spectral resolution, and then mathematically deresolved when converted to Thermo
Scientific Omnic
library format. The samples were run by transmission using one of the following sampling
techniques: molded film, capillary film, or KBr disk. The collection includes 1,509
polymers and polymer additives and 290 plasticizers primarily from U.S. manufacturers.
Chemically, the classes of polymer compounds represented in the library include:
thermoplastics, thermoset resins, engineering polymers, monomers and catalysts. The
classes of additives represented include: plasticizers, mold release agents, inorganic
fillers, antistatic agents, anionic and cationic surfactants and colorants.
Thermo Scientific wishes to acknowledge the cooperation of Dr. Shri Thanedar and David
Pehlman of ChemIR/Polytech Laboratories in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. and Dr. John Kokosa
of the GMI Management and Engineering Institute in Flint, Michigan, U.S.A. for their help
in creating this library. |
